If you have not heard the news by now – Konami recently released a teaser website showing the above image.  Most of you will immediately associate the next Metal Gear Solid, from the picture above, with the XBOX 360. The reasons are obvious – the familiar XBOX color tone. The power button symbol that is similar to the XBOX 360 power symbol (no matter how “generic” this symbol is), the bigger XBOX 360 install base, and the popularity of the Konami IP make the XBOX 360 the obvious choice for the next release – in both financial terms for Konami, and for the hardcore gaming fans.

This however has been recently shot down. Shot down, and kicked whilst laying on the floor paralysed. The respected Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has recently published a few pages showing Metal Gear Solid Touch on the iPhone, which Konami has since confirmed.

We expect to see limited game play capabilities due the inferior graphics capabilities of the iPhone, and a limited amount of movement within the game. For iPhone lovers out there – this will be welcomed news – to see a major developer releasing a blockbuster title onto their beloved cut down OSX mobile platform. However – everyone else, including PlayStation owners, may be questioning the sanity behind the closed doors of Konami.
