Other video game manufacturers have proved that the evolution of video game controllers are very, very possible. Granted, Microsoft are till the new players in the game, but they have shown that they are willing to learn and give their users a fresh design based on feedback and their own research. Nintendo have shown that they are prepared to show the industry new directions and ideas, and educate their audience. Sony? “We’ll just give them the same controller ‘cos we know they like that. That Nintendo thing too that they revealed today… that looks half decent. That could work – lets see what we can churn out to our drones in two weeks time and watch them broadcast how amazing it is”.

Microsoft? They designed a great controller – they didn’t need to add any type of motion control to their controller. Has it made us wish that we had motion control sensors in our controller? No.
