Tester on PSN – Another example of Sony wasting money, abusing their brand-power and fans

by MDF on Feb.03, 2010, under Blogerisms

Check out the video below of Sony’s latest financial urination

Even if you are a Sony PSN fan… some part of you can’t be agreeing to this. “Tester” is a PSN exclusive reality show, coming in the form of 10 unfortunately deluded individuals battling it out for a job at Sony as a games tester, over 8 episodes. That’s right… a games tester. If anyone knows the games industry, then they know that this is like being tested mentally and physically in a game show to win a lifetime of luxury… only to be thrown into a poverty-stricken slum in the far corner of the earth. PSN nearly forgot about Blu-ray, puts full-game download service on hold

by MDF on Feb.03, 2010, under Blogerisms

I just kept forgetting about Blu-ray

Poor PSN. It’s just low-blow after low-blow with these guys. Poor online performace in all sectors, and now this. I mean it’s understandable, after what went into forcing themselves upon us without consent when Blu-ray came along. (continue reading…)

SeXBOX – You didn’t just do that, did you?

by MDF on Feb.03, 2010, under Blogerisms

Check this rubbish out below.

Really? Are you being SERIOUS? Is this even REAL?! Have they got NOTHING BETTER to do than STATE THE OBVIOUS about an INTERNET BASED SERVICE?!

It must have been a seriously slow news day over at KDVR. So slow, that they allowed someone (Heidi Hemmat) with extremely poor editorial skills to go ahead and write and film this joke of an article. So why is it a joke of an article? Well lets start from the top. Actually, I’ve got a better idea. I’m going to copy and paste the article below – and rip it apart. (continue reading…)

Zune – The Silent Uprising of Microsoft

by MDF on Jan.27, 2010, under Blogerisms

Zune. Microsoft Zune. How much do you know about Microsoft’s media and hardware delivery platform? Probably not too much. What purpose does it actually serve you as the consumer? What does the future hold for their relatively quiet service? And why is 2010 an important year for Microsoft? Redmond is planning an invasion… and we’re starting to see just what this year has in store. (continue reading…)

Sonys bubble bursts: IBM kills Cell processor

by MDF on Jan.25, 2010, under Blogerisms

Bye!

Bye!

Well well well, just what do we have here. This story hasn’t got the most exposure over the last few weeks… but if anyone knows just exactly what went into developing the Cell Broadband Engine, will be shaking their heads right now.

The Cell processor was being dubbed as the next big step in micro-processing technology… the big cheese of the computing world. It was going to be the game changer. The world wide web was filling up with all sorts of mythical, magical uses… it was going to be in your phones, your microwaves, your AM radio

Gran Turismo 5: Vapourware Edition

by MDF on Jan.25, 2010, under Blogerisms

"Oh hai GT5. Lets be friends"

What to think about Gran Turismo. Granted, it’s a realistic racer… and a good quality one. We ain’t going to knock that. But, looking a little deeper… it clearly gives an insight into just what the hell is going on over at Sony Worldwide Studios. The game has been in the making for around 4 years now… and has cost a whopping $60 Million to make. (continue reading…)

PlayStation Home – Proof that home was designed for sexual male congregation

by MDF on Dec.22, 2008, under Blogerisms

Black Home Logo

For the longest time I have been holding off writing anything about PlayStation Home. I wanted to give it a little time for things to level out before I was to make an statement about what this service is about. Over the past few weeks, it has started to become clear to the Microsoft Defense Force what is to be expected of this service, on the inferior PlayStation Network.

Zune XBOX – No, this is NOT an XBOX Portable

Concept Render of Zune 3

Concept Render of Zune 3

Many XBOX hopefuls have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of an XBOX related handheld gaming system. Rumours and speculation about this has been floating around the tubes for quite some time now – however, nothing has ever been confirmed or ever materialised. It would seem the obvious thing to do considering that both Nintendo and Sony are battling it out in the handheld arena from a gamers point of view (with Sony being pounded over and over and over and over again), but we understand that this may not be the right time to enter the handheld market to begin with. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out why.

Yahoo! Tech Blog – Blu-ray “bafflingly, dog-slow”

by MDF on Dec.18, 2008, under Blogerisms

Stumbled across an interesting article titled “The Best and Worst Tech Products of 2008″ by Christopher Null over at Yahoo! Tech blogs. With Rock Band 2 being 2nd in the list of the best technologies of 2008. Does it surprise you? Supported by Microsoft’s LIVE infrastructure set-up, this game has had the amazing support it needed to distribute new music and content out to their gamers to keep playing the same games with different content. We believe that Sony has their own, massively inferior network… I’m not sure, PSN or somethin’.

What’s more important about this blog post however is the list of worse technologies of 2008. No. 1? Blu-ray. Well cover me in bling and call me Krazy Ken Kuturagi. Why does this not surprise me. After the public being force-fed a new, expensive, unknown and confusing media platform – you can expect people to be a little pissed.

As Chris Null states “there’s a very loud and vocal minority that insists that Blu-ray will be a huge success. The market indicates otherwise.” Some good reading.
